- The Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone is a citizen based organization advocating the protection and preservation of the Blackstone River and its tributaries. The organization represents the interests of the nine RI communities located within the Blackstone River Watershed. Our mission is to enhance the environment, economy, and to promote th heritage of the Blackstone River watershed by educating stakeholders and developing community involvement that will instill commitment, responsibility and sustainability.
